Beatrice 'Tris' Prior died for a sacrifice of the greater good of humans. She blasted open the weapons vault doors, endeared a death serum and was confronted by David in the weapons lab. She hit the reset button that released the memory serum that would reset the memory of everyone in the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. She was shot as she hit the last button and died in that room. The memory of everyone in the Bureau who didn't take an antidote before the serum was put into the air, was reset. The rest of her group, The Allegiant, were able to change the memories of everyone in the Bureau into believing that there was no different between the people who were "Genetically-Pure" and "Genetically-Damaged" and that they were all just equal people. This set up the stage for people from around the area of the Midwest living off the land to be able to move into Chicago and have a new start at life. Thanks to Tris' sacrifice, so many people were given the chance at a new life. She sacrificed herself to give other life, just as her mother and father had done for her to have life and give others a chance to live. No one shall forget of Beatrice Prior's great sacrifice, and people will forever have her to thank for life.
